Next Club Day
Sunday, 29th October 2017 at John Scott’s property, Rayner Street, Pleasant Point.
For those travelling North turn left onto State Highway 8 heading for Pleasant Point, turn left onto
Rayner Street which is opposite the entrance to the Pleasant Point Domain, cross the railway line
and travel approximately 300M to paddock on right which will be signposted at entrance.
For those travelling South turn right onto Arowhenua Road just after coming off the Opihi Bridge,
turn right onto State Highway 8 heading for Pleasant Point, turn left onto Rayner Street which is
opposite the entrance to the Pleasant Point Domain, cross the railway line and travel
approximately 300M to paddock on right which will be signposted at entrance.
In the event of cancellation due to the weather this will be on our Facebook page by 8.00am and
will also be on our local radio station Port FM.
Please no dogs and remember to clean up after yourselves and respect the farmers property.
Scrutineering is at 10:00am – 10:30 followed by drivers briefing. Please bring karts to the sign in
table and form 2 lines for karts to be scrutineered. Please wait with your kart then sign in.
Can we please have clean karts for scrutineering. Numbers must be on all four sides of the kart
and be clearly readable, black on white or white on black. No numbers, no points.
26th November 2017 – we are holding our annual sealed event at the Oamaru Airport with a
postponement date of 3rd December 2017 if wet. We are catering for all grades from Midgets
through to Seniors, Opens and Superkarts.
As this is a sealed event slick tyres only – no grass tyres and all karts will require catch bottles for fuel to be fitted.
Entry forms are now available and if you have not received an entry earlier in the week let me know and I can send out again – $20.00 entry fee per kart plus $10.00 for each extra entry/kart residing at the same address. Entries close 16th November.
Timaru Soapbox Derby
The return of the Soapbox Derby to Timaru on the 19th November will take place along George
Street from Barnard Street to Station Street. It will feature a Junior and Open section with the
juniors they can build their karts from a kitset or design their own whereas the Open section have
to design their own. For further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The BBQ will be running during the lunch break on our club day with sausage/bread/onions for $2.00 and also
have small bottles of fizzy drink for $1.00.

If you know of anyone who has a paddock available for the Club to race on please let one of the
Committee know as it’s greatly appreciated to have new venues to race at.
